Mr. Jones earned a B.S. degree from Southern Methodist University. He started his career with Sklar in 2005 as a Petroleum Landman. Mr. Jones was promoted to Vice President & Land Manager in 2016 where he managed all of Sklar’s Gulf Coast Basin and Rocky Mountain Basin assets before becoming the Vice President of Business Development in 2018. Mr. Jones was named Sklar’s Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in January 2019, where he is responsible for managing the company’s strategy and planning and executing the day to day operations.

Mr. Jones is a Certified Petroleum Landman (#65239) and member of the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL), Ark-La-Tex Petroleum Landman’s Association (ALTAPL), Denver Association of Petroleum Landmen (DAPL), Louisiana Oil & Gas Association (LOGA), Colorado Oil & Gas Association (COGA), Denver Petroleum Club and the Florida Independent Petroleum Producers Association (FLIPPA).
